How Much?
The HiFi Shop requires a booking fee to assess and quote your repair. This fee is deducted from the final repair cost if you choose to proceed.
For most equipment, the booking fee is $145. More complex items—such as AV receivers and high-end stereo amplifiers—incur a higher assessment fee of $245.
Once your equipment has been inspected and the fault identified, we will provide a repair quote. If you approve the repair, the booking fee is applied toward the total cost. For example, if the repair is quoted at $600, you would pay the remaining balance after the booking fee has been deducted.
If the equipment is deemed uneconomical to repair, or parts are unavailable, the booking fee is retained. This helps cover the time involved in consultation, diagnosis, fault finding, sourcing parts, and preparing the quote.

How Long?
Most repairs booked at The HiFi Shop are commenced within 1–4 weeks. While many jobs are completed within a week once underway, timeframes can vary depending on fault complexity and parts availability.
Intermittent or difficult-to-diagnose faults, as well as delays in sourcing components, may extend the repair time.
All repairs are covered by a 6-month warranty. This warranty applies specifically to the fault that was repaired, not the entire unit.
